- getting things done (david allen)
This is evidently the hottest organizational book/system out there right now, but I hadn't heard of it until one day when I heard of it twice. There are all sorts of websites devoted to "Getting Things Done" and I finally got curious enough to buy the book. Will let you know what I think.
- skinny legs and all (tom robbins)
So, this book is about Salome and Jezebel and Ellen Cherry. I think. I'm not sure. But I'm enjoying the heck out of it.
- save the cat (blake snyder)
A solid process for developing ideas and outlining screenplays. I'm working my way through it, and so far am enjoying the process.
- on writing (stephen king)
If you're interested in writing, you should read this book. Even if you're afraid of the dark and reading Stephen King gives you nightmares -- you still should read this book. It's that good. And if you'd prefer to listen to the audibook, that's fine, too. Stephen King is a very good reader as well as writer.
- soul to soul (stevie ray vaughan)
The original CD, however. I see here that there's a new remastered one with previously unreleased cuts. Yay! New Stevie Ray!
As I finish a book (or view a movie, play or DVD) I'll post my thoughts in my book blog, guilty of reading.

Er, should I be scared, this far north? lol!
Did I tell you that my husband bought me a Kinky Action Figure for Christmas? He sits next to my Knight from Spamalot whose limbs come off (but do not spurt blood).
I would feel cheated that they don't spurt blood. Somebody with imagination (ahem) might figure out a way to make them spurt something. I'd make it something more edible, though. Raspberry syrup?
My only action figure so far is Jane Austen. She doesn't actully do a lot except stand there with a kind of insipid smile on her face, but I can tell she's "thinking" something.
I think Jane Austen would be incapable of anything BUT insipid. Sorry, all you fans.
